A New Miracle Roof
So how does prayer travel for a good roofer? For Pastor William Quintero, Barrington, IL, the answer was 1,311 miles. That’s how far a prayer traveled for him, if you don’t count from heaven and back. When Pastor Quintero, with his congregation of Iglesia Apostolica Cristo la Roca Christ The Rock, who have been renting space for several years, had the opportunity to buy a building in a high-cost locality, it took a lot of sacrifice, and generosity to purchase the building. That left them with little in the treasury to fix up and modernize the building. One of their immediate concerns was a leaking roof that would further damage the interior.
When Ricky McGraw, President of The Commercial Contractor and a former DeKalb, IL resident, heard of the church’s need, he got involved. The Commercial Contractor is a multifaceted national team of roofing and restoration specialists who have done quality work all over the nation to replace, and repair commercial and residential roofs following natural disasters, hailstorms, hurricanes, and floods for both small and large, difficult jobs. For this job, he brought in a team of roofers, supplied the materials, and cleaned up the site for the church family when the job was done.
As part of his giving back to the communities he services, his team took the project from start to finish without any compensation for labor, material, or costs. His generous gift to the church brought tears, shouts of joy, and –an answer to prayer from 1,311 miles away. When you have a big heart, distance doesn’t matter.
